Chief Analytics and Product Officer

Daniel “Dan” McCoy is Chief Analytics and Product Officer at HSG Advisors. He builds data analytics processes and workflows for the Claims Data Analytics practice, manages data warehouse integration of complex internal and external data sets from multiple sources into a single, unified warehouse, and provides operational workflow management that enhances efficiency and the capacity to address business problems for both HSG and partners.  

His areas of expertise include business and data analytics, data aggregation and management, data visualization, and building business intelligence using big data. Dan manages both the back-end data input and client-facing output, aggregating HSG’s proprietary data with external data sources, and determining the best visual format for clients to use the information for strategic decision-making through HSG Dashboard. He utilizes his extensive knowledge to set up processes that optimize the utility of data analysis. 

In addition to data analytics, Daniel’s background includes software product management, digital operations, and entrepreneurship. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The University of Kentucky. In addition to his degrees, he earned an additional certification in Fundamentals of Project Management and Planning from the University of Virginia, and a Google Certification in Analytics and Ads. His data analysis skills include Python, SQL, R, Excel, and Tableau Prep, and his data visualization skills include Tableau and Google Data Studio.
